1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Saturn8 Games (“Saturn8”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles information in connection with the mobile game After Dark (the “Game”). After Dark does not require a Saturn8 account and Saturn8 does not operate a backend service that stores your gameplay progress. However, the Game uses third-party advertising and mediation services which may collect or process information from your device as described below.
2. Information handled by Saturn8
Saturn8 does not require you to create an account, provide your name or email address, or upload your gameplay progress to Saturn8 in order to play After Dark. Saturn8 does not operate a player account or profiling backend. The Game does, however, send a limited set of gameplay event counters to Saturn8’s own website server as described in Section 4.
If you contact Saturn8 directly, for example by email, we may receive the information you choose to provide and use it as necessary to respond to you, provide support and meet applicable legal obligations.
3. Local save data
Your gameplay progress and save data are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to Saturn8. Saturn8 therefore cannot access or recover your locally stored save data.
4. Saturn8 aggregate game analytics
After Dark sends a limited set of event notifications to a Saturn8-operated website endpoint so that Saturn8 can understand basic use of the Game. These events currently record that the Game was launched, that one of Dates 1–30 was completed, that Premium was purchased, that Darts, Poker or Bowling was played, or that an interstitial, date-reward or plays-reward advertising event occurred.
The analytics request does not include your name, email address, player account, advertising identifier, persistent device identifier, save-game contents or other user-generated content. Saturn8’s analytics database stores only aggregate daily counters for each event type and does not store your IP address or an identifier that is intended to recognise you across sessions.
Like any HTTPS request, the web server necessarily receives technical connection information such as an IP address in order to deliver the request. The hosting platform may also create standard access or security logs in accordance with its configuration and the hosting provider’s practices. Saturn8 does not use those logs to build player profiles or combine the aggregate game counters with advertising profiles.
The “Premium purchased” analytics event is a simple counter indicating that the Game reported a completed Premium purchase. The analytics database does not receive payment-card details, an App Store password or the contents of your purchase receipt.
5. Advertising and third-party services
After Dark uses third-party advertising technology to display and manage advertisements. Advertising is mediated through Unity LevelPlay and, at launch, advertising providers may include ironSource, Google AdMob and Unity Ads.
These third-party services may automatically collect, receive or process certain information from your device when permitted by applicable law and your privacy choices. Depending on the provider, device, region, advertising configuration and consent choices, this may include IP address, device and operating-system information, app information, advertising or device identifiers, approximate location derived from technical information, ad impressions, clicks and other advertising interaction data, and information used for ad delivery, measurement, frequency capping, security and fraud prevention.
Where permitted and where any required consent has been obtained, advertising providers may also use information to provide or measure personalised advertising. Saturn8 does not use this advertising information to create its own player profiles.
6. Advertising partners
Advertising and mediation services used by After Dark at launch may include:
- Unity LevelPlay / ironSource — advertising mediation and advertising services.
- Google AdMob — advertising services.
- Unity Ads — advertising services.
These companies process information under their own privacy policies and may act independently in relation to some processing activities. The specific advertising partners used by the Game may change over time as mediation configuration changes.
7. Consent and privacy choices
Where required by applicable law, the Game will request consent before enabling advertising technologies that require consent. In regions including the United Kingdom, European Economic Area and Switzerland, users may be shown a consent-management message that provides information about advertising partners and available choices.
Where required, users will be provided with a way to revisit or withdraw advertising consent choices. Changing a privacy choice may affect whether personalised advertising can be shown, but does not necessarily prevent all advertising or processing that is permitted on another lawful basis.
On Apple devices, where an advertising activity constitutes tracking under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework, the Game will respect the device’s tracking permission and will not perform such tracking without the required permission.
8. Purchases and app-store information
If you download or purchase the Game, or make a purchase offered through it, the relevant app-store provider may process information such as your account, payment and transaction details under its own privacy policy and terms. Saturn8 does not directly receive or store your payment-card details through the Game.
9. Children’s privacy
After Dark is not intended to be directed to children. Saturn8 does not knowingly use the Game to collect personal information directly from children. Saturn8 will configure applicable platform and advertising settings in accordance with the Game’s intended audience and applicable requirements.
10. Data retention and deletion
Saturn8 does not retain your local gameplay save data on its servers. Aggregate gameplay analytics counters may be retained to measure historical use of the Game. Because those counters contain no player or device identifier, Saturn8 cannot use them to retrieve or delete the history of a particular player. Standard web-server access or security logs may be retained separately according to hosting configuration and provider practices. Information processed by advertising providers is retained and deleted according to those providers’ policies and applicable privacy choices. Requests concerning data held by an advertising provider may need to be made directly to that provider.
11. International transfers
Third-party advertising providers may process information in countries other than the country in which you live. Where required, those providers are responsible for using appropriate safeguards for international transfers in accordance with applicable data-protection law.
12. Security
Saturn8 minimises the Game data it holds by keeping gameplay progress local to your device. Third-party advertising providers maintain their own technical and organisational measures for information they process. No method of electronic processing or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Game, advertising partners, applicable law or platform requirements. The effective date shown above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated where required by law.
14. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, data-protection law may give you rights relating to personal information, including rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or withdrawal of consent. Saturn8 does not maintain player accounts, receive your local save data or store a persistent identifier with its aggregate analytics counters, so those aggregate counters cannot ordinarily be associated back to a particular player. Advertising providers may separately hold information associated with their services and provide their own privacy-rights mechanisms.
